Ponies and Work

This weekend was filled with house sitting for my aunt, her 6 minis, two full sized horses, two cats, and Holly the corgi. The animals were great and things went smoothly.

House Sitting

Started back to work today. Orientation that you’ve already been through is twice as boring as the painful boring it was the first time. Good thing is that it was only the manditory things and ended early. Tomorrow starts real training. I’m happy to be going back to work for Old Boss thoughthe company could be better, I’ve been in worse situations in other fields and at least this is the devil I know. Wednesday OtherJ will be back from his work trip and life goes back to normal. I like normal life. Right now I’m being stupid and girly and watching the Devil Wears Prada. Bought new shoes, the last Futurama movie and some new socks for work.

The Demons will be getting a new house soon. Other J and George spent Saturday getting things started and hopefully it will be done this weekend. As long as it is done before OtherJ’s mom visits I’m happy.

Black Balsam and Shining Rock

Ok – so I have pictures to put up… well I have pictures to go through and I’m really not going to because there are over 500 of them and I’m going to wait. Other J has already sorted and combined the panoramas… I plan to just steal them when he gets home.

We are working on the SB6K, 40 peaks over 6000ft above sea level. Slowly, and not with any real effort actually.

Good Ol’ Crowders

Ok so we’re never doing both peaks at Crowder’s again. It was great, but our feet hurt and it was a long day.
The fantastic part was there was NO ONE on the main peak when we got there. It was the first time we’ve even been able to see the main vista. The second peak is a long way up very rocky, steep, hill/mountain. Which was also nice until some ass decided to whip out his iphone (note we only take one phone with us, and it is turned off while we hike) and started playing “Take on me” by Ah-ha. Dude its 8pm, YOU”RE ON A MOUNTAIN, and you decided to be a jackass… no one wants to hear that, we want to watch the sunset in peace. Weenie. Though the church group singing with their guitar and enjoying the nature was nice.

Today, I am sore. Talked to J4. Miss her. Told her that mom had her appendix removed. Caught up on happenings of life. She’s moving to CO within the next year or so. Told her that J2 was joining the Navy or trying to. We went to sports authority, scoped out a bench and some dumbells and then left with insoles for our hiking shoes and new socks for me. Walked around the mall for a little bit and I pointed out that the new coach store would be where our friend “A” would be spending all her spare time. Ten feet later I hear “OtherJ and J?” yep… there is “A” with her friend. Right outside the store… so weird. Met her friend, talked a little while, then headed to get milkshakes/smoothies.

Now is winding down time. OtherJ is playing video games with a friend from PA. I’m uploading pictures and reading postsecret. Very pleasant weekend.

I have a google voice number. I’m using it on job applications and going to give it to Grandma so she doesn’t have to call long distance.
I like coffee.
Little Bunny likes vanilla candles.
Applying to a lot of banks lately. Must be a family thing.

Job Search

In addition to my normal job search rounds I’ve started looking for internships. Some are paid, some are not, and most are not anywhere near here. Most are also geared toward college students and are offering credit for compensation. I do not need credit. I need something close that looks good on a resume. So there are also volunteer opportunities – which will get me out of the house, might look ok on a resume and will not effect my unemployment. I’m also looking into retail – not actually sales cause I’m terrible at that – but support. Maybe the people who do inventory for large stores or the one who changes the signs and stuff.

Angst:
customer service =/= sales, if i’m looking for a customer service job i’m not looking to SELL ANYTHING…

Anniversary Weekend 2009

Friday – Spent the day in Winston-Salem. Visited the Tattoo Archive and Old-Salem

Saturday – Hiking with G&M and their niece. Naps then sushi for dinner.

Sunday – LAZY wonderful Sunday, we did get grocery shopping done. OtherJ was able to sort and convert pictures. If you notice on Friday he took all the pictures because we borrowed a higher end camera from his boss. Saturday pictures are mixed between our little point and shoot and the borrowed camera. (which has created a bigger monster than we had before – looks like we’re going to start saving for the nice camera)

Other News: My friend from high school is pregnant with TWINS… silly fertile friends. =)
